I just discovered something. Even as a native English speaker, it turns out I already use the "ich" sound. But I do it while inhaling, when I've eaten something very spicy and I'm trying to cool off the edges of my tongue.

i really love this. i wish there was a more common “speech therapist” style education style. it really helps me in pronunciation and being understood. i am american but i also have a very strong regional accent that is difficult even for other english speakers. so it’s been extra hard for me to not have a “lazy tongue.” another helpful “hint” for the L is english has two L sounds-the light L typically found at the front of our words such at light, lesson, lovely and a dark L typically at the end of our words like panel, saddle, principal. German only has the light L and that helped me with pronunciation as a native english speaker.
